Imitating descriptive models from writing in our field or other sources

Morning

The sun shinning through the glass, the curtains going back and forth waving the colorful birds standing just outside that old wood window. That sweet spring smell that just inundate that little warm room. The hart bitten of the wood selling, and the crack of the floor covered by that past century red and green handmade carpet. The soft rhythm of the leafs dancing ones over the other. That warm feeling of being at home. That incomparable place were everything is sweet and peaceful.

“In the Campus”

A cold place, every body coming and going just passing by, not even noticing what stays around. That peaceful noise that has his own rhythm. Happy faces, tired faces, hopeful faces. Shadows mixed with the sunshine light rays making beautiful pictures on the soft green grass where lots of dreams and promises lie. Smells that sometimes transport us home. Far, noises can be heard : friends and lovers talking about some secrets that will be kept forever. The big and tall ancient walls look everything and keep in their memory every single step we take around. As standing on the sky from the high the big tall clock stops the time from once to once to let us realize the beauty that surround us. Million halls, and million places, refuges and reunions, peaceful noisy and crowded places. Antiqued and modern buildings that play with our minds and make us forget about the time and think about the past or the future, about who already walk those footpath and about the ones that will come after us. If we are careful enough we can see every color, listen every language, fell every emotion. The variety of the world can be perceived taking a look to everything around, almost making us feel outside the picture we are contemplating. The water in the fountain flowing trough the statues singing to the sun, and reminding the nature flow of life, and our short trip trough it. A cradle of dreams and hopes, a big first step, the start and the beginning of many stories, sometimes a second home, sometimes just a stage in our lives.

Valentine's inspiration....

You enter into the place and light up all with your shining smile, you give all the nonsenses meaning and all the mysteries conclusion. You give hope and grace, going and going through the darkness, taking away all my pains, giving me all what I wanted. Is your love what makes me have faith in a future together, when sun will always shine and bird always sing in our window. I can bet that day will come as the spring follows the autumn, cleaning all the gray and brown and bringing back all those beautiful colors. The smell of new flowers will fulfill our sense. The nightmares will only be memories and the darkness will only be a shadow. Just will be you and me together walking side by ide, from rivers to mountains, through stones and sands, because we both know that together anything can stop us.  

Poetry

I've cried a river,
I've lost all my faith,
I've stand up after falling,
I've fallen again

I've tried every possible way,
I've looked in every single place,
But i still haven't found the secret
to stop thinking about you that way.

This is me as a Writer.

I am from Argentina, so my native language is Spanish, and I learned English at a local Institute in my city. I have a terrible handwriting so since I got my fist computer,I prefer typing rather than handwriting. I am not a big fan of reading, but I have red a lot for my studies, and I think is the better way to learn how to write. For me writing, is like a therapy, is a way to let my feelings go out, so when I'm through any emotion i can not handle or i have to think about, I enjoy writing about that, but only for myself, I usually don't share it with anyone. Sometimes some places inspire me, like when i travel, and I do some notes or write down some things interesting. Now I am here, in the USA and I hope this help me to improve my English skills. 

It is more important for students to study history and literature than it is for them to study science and mathematics?

Obviously this theme is controvertial there are people supporting both sides of opinion. People who believe that literature and history are more significant in children education, support their thought in the strong belief that the knowledge of the main general fact of the culture the language and the history that brought us here is enough for having an complete picture about the world they live in, and how to develop them selves, and improve their lives through get to know everything they need from books.

In contrast of that idea, there are a lot of scientist and teachers who have the strong belief that the study of science and mathematics is much better for their education. This statement is based on the idea that these kind of subjects attempt to improve the logical thinking, and encourage children to be mucho more curious.

It is a fact that the bases of math stimulates the logic in our brains, due to that in several majors the first years, the students have lots of classes of science and math, orientated to increase our mental functions to reach a more abstract way of thinking.

Math teach students how to solve problems, and those skills can be used not only in Algebra, or Geometry, but also in everyday life. Science teaches them how does the universe work and it gives them a better understanding of the natural process going around their own lives. Both, even if there are not applied directly, try to develop their rational thinking, and this will be a really useful tool, even when they study other subjects or topics.

Topic: Who we are as writers? Positive and negative experiences as a writer?

In my case I do not really have much experience as a writer, I have only write in English few times, and only for my English classes homework , but I have written a lot of  essays and assignments in my native  language during my studies.

I think the most positive influence a person can have for writing is reading, because you can internalize the knowledge and at the same time you are learning to communicate ideas. I am not a big fan of readings, because I have a lot to read for university so I have not reached to find time enough to read books for pleasure, and even less in English. Otherwise, when I am looking for some information or doing some research there are a lot more possibilities to find something interesting written in English, also sometimes translations loose part of the meaning of a text.

I do not really know who I am as a writer but I believe that to write is the best way to found it out.

About me

My name is Andrea Margasin. I am 24 years old. I'm from Argentina. I'm studying to become a Civil Engineer at Universidad Tecnológica Nacional in Argentina. I'm in my last year and I'm expected to be graduated in 2015.  I'm living and studying here in Austin for a month, with other seven argentinian students. We got a scholarship from the Fulbright Comission  of The U.S. Embassy, to do an English Inmersión Program at The University of Texas at Austin. In my free time I enjoy beeing with my family and friends, I also like enjoy cooking and taking drama clases, but just for fun.
